Hechiceros Handed 9-4 Loss by Vejigantes

Loiza and Guayama got after it at Coliseo Tomás Escalante.
Led by Efraín Arias, the Loiza Vejigantes defeated the Guayama Hechiceros, 9-4. Arias was 1-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Vejigantes. The third-place Hechiceros dropped to 47-82.
Arias contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Loiza in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-0, Arias took a fastball from Vittorio Gambachini and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Vejigantes to leap in front, 4-2.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Arias.
