Víctor Hugo Velásquez, who is tied for 8th in the LB in quality starts with 27, was locked in. The right-hander led the Hormigueros Romeros to a 5-4 win against the Penuelas Guiristas at Coliseo Armando Vargas. Hormigueros is now 69-62, Penuelas 68-63.

Hormigueros used the timely hitting of Sandalio Moreno to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Romeros on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Moreno. "And not try to do too much."
