The Canovanas Chupacabras rode a solid performance from 38-year-old starting pitcher Álvaro Piedra to a win, beating the Rio Grande Cotorras, 3-2, at Recinto Ramón Araujo. Piedra got the win, improving to 9-20. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The victory makes Canovanas 39-92.

Telégono Ruiz was the walk-off hero for Canovanas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Chupacabras catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
