A 4-RBI performance from the 27-year old left fielder Simón Núñez helped the Guanica Amigos beat the Barranquitas Ilustres, 6-2. Héctor Delgado picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 19-7. At 73-59, the Amigos find themselves in first place in the Liga Hostos Suroeste.
Núñez had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-1 slider from Dan Coleman, he banged a bases-clearing double to center, giving the Amigos a 3-2 lead. It was the 9th double of the year for Núñez.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Núñez said after the game.
