The Vega Baja Caneros picked up a win at Estadio Rolando Sandoval, dropping the Ceiba Picudos, 4-0. Alberto Benítez, who finished 3rd in the LH in wins with 30 in 1904, was the difference-maker. Vega Baja improves to 65-65 with the win. They lead their division by 3 games.
Vega Baja took advantage of an error in the top of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 0-0, when Dáire O'Connor hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Caneros in front, 1-0.
"I felt like I had pretty good command of mostly everything," said Benítez.
