The Anasco Matadioses picked up a win at Coliseo Hermógenes Cárdenas, taking down the Rincon Ingenieros, 6-3. Starting pitcher Cirilo Calderón was a big reason why. Calderón, now 11-19, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 12 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs. The second-place Matadioses now have a record of 66-64.

The game still hung in the balance with two out in the bottom of the eighth inning. Calderón, however, wiggled out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Rincon trailing 6-3, Calderón retired Bartolomé Sardinas, who flied out.
