Libertadores Deny Murcielagos, 4-3
|
The Guaynabo Libertadores picked up a win at Coliseo Jesús Carreón, knocking off the Camuy Murcielagos, 4-3. Starting pitcher Boulos Haroun played a key role in the triumph. Haroun, the winner, moves to 16-17. He threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. At 65-71, Guaynabo is in second place in the Liga Betances Metro Central.
Marcos Martínez had a big run-scoring double for the Libertadores in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Guaynabo leading 3-1 and a runner on 3rd, he got a changeup from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Urayoán Lares and swatted a double to left. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Libertadores ahead, 4-1.
"Boulos did what Boulos does," said Guaynabo manager Billy Riley.
