At Coliseo Miguel Flores, the Utuado Arribenos and Anasco Matadioses were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Anasco Matadioses scooted past the Utuado Arribenos, 2-1, at Coliseo Miguel Flores. Anasco pitcher Eusebio Ortiz, in particular, performed like a star. Anasco, now 72-62, holds down second place in the Liga Hostos Oeste.
Anasco used a timely hit from Aureliano Dávila to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Matadioses ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"Really, really impressed with the way Eusebio competed and executed pitches," said Anasco manager Pablo Tovar.
