Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Capitanes
The Mayaguez Capitanes defeated the Ponce Senores, 6-5, in 10 innings. William Jepson, who is tied for 3rd in the LH in stolen bases with 80, played a big role. Jepson was 4 for 5 with 4 singles for the Capitanes in the win. The winner was Mayaguez reliever Yann Bourgeois, now 5-3. The loser was Tomás Sánchez. The Capitanes raised their record to 76-58.

The Capitanes got a clutch hit from center fielder Sócrates Ramírez. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Capitanes.

Ramírez told a Mayaguez Chronicle reporter that he felt "relieved" after the win.
