In a tight contest between the Hormigueros Romeros and the Guaynabo Libertadores, Tito Barrientos was the determining factor. The Hormigueros right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. The Romeros improved their record to 59-79 with the win over Guaynabo.

Eduardo Alanis had a clutch hit in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two men out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Hormigueros first baseman hit a run-scoring single. That put the Romeros in the lead, 3-2.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Guaynabo manager Billy Riley.
