Cerros Keep Reeling Off Wins
The Jayuya Cerros besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Trujillo Alto left fielder Serapión Figueras by beating the Macabeos, 9-8, at Coliseo Álvaro Santana. Figueras went 3-5 with a triple and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The win gives Jayuya a record of 11-13.

Tied up with the Macabeos in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Cerros got a boost from catcher Martin Parker. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Parker saw a 0-2 slider from Javier Rodríguez and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Jayuya on top, 5-4.

"Hitting, winning. It's just contagious," said Parker.
