In 11, Philadelphia Beats New York, 2-1
|
Philadelphia turned a good effort from starting pitcher Joe Yeager into a win over the New York Giants at National League Park 1895-1909. The final score was 2-1 in 11 innings. After losing, New York is 0-2.
The Phillies got a clutch hit from third baseman Charlie Babb. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Phillies.
"Everybody in here is a professional. You have to do what you have to do," said Yeager.
