Chupacabras Earn Late 3-2 Win
|
Coamo got a valiant performance from pitcher Alvin Stamp, but it wasn't enough to beat the Canovanas Chupacabras. Canovanas won the game, 3-2. Stamp threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. Raúl Mora finished to wrap up his 7th save. The Chupacabras sport a record of 42-99.
Canovanas needed the clutch hitting of Hércules Rendón to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chupacabras on top, 3-2. For the game, Rendón had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
After the game, Canovanas manager Héctor Martínez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
