Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Mendoza Wednesday, October 1st , 1913 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Ricardo Mendoza did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Coliseo Carlos Mujica. For the last 20 games in a row, the 23-year-old second baseman has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Morovis Sanisalvos beat the Orocovis Caciques, 7-3. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Mendoza told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Morovis clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Ricardo Mendoza grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, walked in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this year, Mendoza is batting .314 with 1 home run and 77 RBIs. |
