Taylor Sparkles in 3-0 Blanking of Vega Baja Monday, October 6th , 1913 In a remarkable performance, Las Marias Citricos starter Ross Taylor beat the Vega Baja Caneros, 3-0, in an impressive 4-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Citricos hurler finished with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Vega Baja manager Juan Covarrubias said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
