Caneros Sit Atop Liga Betances Costa Norteña Friday, October 10th , 1913 Fernando Fontánez said it takes "a lot of dedication and sacrifice" to win a division title. That's why he and his Vega Baja Caneros teammates were so excited to celebrate their Liga Betances Costa Norteña championship today. "It's been a team effort all year long," he said. "You don't get to this point without the guys in the room believing in what we're doing." That belief has paced the club to a 87-74 record on the season. It is the club's 7th Liga Betances Costa Norteña championship and puts them in position for their 1st Liga Nacional Puertorriquena championship. "It's a talented bunch in that room," manager Juan Covarrubias said pointing to his celebrating players. "I wouldn't bet against us." |
