Martínez Stops Cabo Rojo Tuesday, October 14th , 1913 In an outstanding mound performance, Las Marias Citricos starter Rafael Martínez fired a complete-game shutout against the Cabo Rojo Combatientes at El Naranjal. Martínez was the key to the 6-0 Las Marias win. The 25-year-old right-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 4 hits and 3 walks he allowed. "4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout." In 42 starts this year, Martínez has posted 20 wins while suffering 16 losses.
