Luquillo Comes up Empty Against Cortés Wednesday, October 15th , 1913 In an excellent mound performance, Manuel Cortés of the Aguas Buenas Mulos blanked the Luquillo Soles, 2-0, on a 3-hitter. "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches," he said after the game. In all, the Aguas Buenas hurler rang up 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in the shutout win. "We just didn't swing the bats well today," said Soles manager Dan Bond. "Cortés did a good job keeping us guessing."
