Arribenos Win Serie Preliminar Thursday, October 23rd , 1913 The Utuado Arribenos players celebrated joyously after winning the Serie Preliminar over the Carolina Tumbabrazos tonight at Estadio Ricardo García. Utuado punched its ticket to the Serie Eliminatoria on the strength of a 1-0 win in the clinching game, which sealed a 3-1 series win. "Any time you win a playoff series as a professional it's exciting, but it's even more so when you do it against a team like Carolina," said series MVP Gabriel Morales. "We don't know how the Serie Eliminatoria is going to play out, but we hope it has the same outcome." Carolina manager Alonso Salinas only spoke briefly to the media after the loss and said dropping the series is "crushing" for his team. For the series, Morales had a 0.00 ERA over 18 innings pitched. He added 7 strikeouts with a 2-0 record. The Utuado Arribenos don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the San Sebastian Pepinos - Ponce Senores series.
