Serie Preliminar Goes the Distance, Fajardo Prevails Saturday, October 25th , 1913 In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Fajardo Insolentes have edged the Cayey Cornupetas. The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Serie Preliminar, with a 13-3 win in the clincher being the difference for Fajardo and giving them the ticket to the Serie Eliminatoria with a 3-2 series triumph. "We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Tony Crampton, who was named series MVP. For the series, Crampton hit .533 with a .708 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 7 runs. The Fajardo Insolentes will play against the Gurabo Tainos in the next round.
