Cotorras Win Serie Eliminatoria Saturday, November 1st , 1913 The Rio Grande Cotorras clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the Patillas Cuervos room was filled with despair and sadness after the Serie Eliminatoria concluded. "Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Zacarías Martínez, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance. Rio Grande won the final game by a 2-0 count at Recinto Atlético del Noreste and the series 3-1. Patillas manager Jonás López was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series. "They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said. For the series, Martínez hit .500 with a .529 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Rio Grande Cotorras will play against the Aguas Buenas Mulos in the next round. Aguas Buenas won their series against the Morovis Sanisalvos 3 games to 1.
