Juana Diaz Wins Campeonato de las Ligas Friday, November 21st , 1913 The Juana Diaz Reyes are off to the Campeonato Nacional Puertorriqueño after an exciting Campeonato de las Ligas triumph. Juana Diaz downed the Utuado Arribenos, but needed the entire series to do so, with a 8-5 win tonight at Coliseo Miguel Flores wrapping up the series 4-3. "It's every guy in this room that made this happen. Without us all pulling in the same direction, we don't win this series," said Filóxenos Gutiérrez, who earned MVP honors for a standout offensive series. Gutiérrez put up a .423 with a .467 on-base percentage in the series. He also had 0 home runs, drove in 10 runs and scored 6 runs himself. The Juana Diaz Reyes don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Arroyo Telegrafistas - Aguas Buenas Mulos series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece.
