Arrieta Reaches 1000 Milestone Tuesday, August 12th , 1913 He made it! Narciso Arrieta got hit #1000! The Blast Furnaces second baseman got his milestone hit at Roaring Dan Seavey Stadium against Escanaba. But it wasn't enough to bring home the victory. Gary was beaten by the Wanderers 5-4. Arrieta's reaction to his accomplishment was nonchalant. He doffed his batting helmet to acknowledge the fans, who were chanting his name. His manager said, "Narciso doesn't pay any attention to individual statistics, the only thing he cares about is winning. He will be more concerned that we lost the game."
