Superior Skunked by Medina, 4-0 Thursday, August 21st , 1913 Constancio Medina was throwing strikes early and getting ahead in the count, his manager said after the Duluth Zeniths hurler tossed a 5-hit, complete game shutout against the Superior Whalebacks. "I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Medina. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings." Medina walked 5 and struck out 8 in the 4-0 victory.
