Sheboygan Brats Clinch First in Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Michigan
Sunday, September 7th , 1913
The city of Sheboygan is buzzing tonight as their hometown club has captured a division title.
The Sheboygan Brats officially laid claim to the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Michigan crown today and will now turn attention to preparing for a run at the franchise's 2nd Championship of the Great Lakes.
"We may have been far ahead in the standings, but you never take anything for granted until it's official," said starting pitcher Bill Phyle. "I've seen too many strange things happen in baseball to ever assume the playoffs is a guarantee."
But it now is in fact a guarantee for the club, which currently has a 77-44 record and has easily stood out as the class of the division this season.
