Lowery Slaps 5 Hits Wednesday, September 17th , 1913 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Aaron Lowery, it came around today. The 24-year-old first baseman scattered hits all over Erie Naval Yards to pace the 12-2 Erie Commodores victory over the Meadville Zips. Meadville skipper Ken Roy told reporters in the press room that "Lowery deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Lowery hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Aaron Lowery hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th and singled in the 7th. For the season, Lowery is hitting at a .321 clip with 10 home runs, 45 RBIs and has scored 42 runs. He has 108 hits, 19 walks and a .360 on-base percentage. View Boxscore View Game Log |
