Horning Reaches 1000 Milestone Friday, September 19th , 1913 Doug Horning reached the 1000-hit mark today. Oshawa's 29-year-old third baseman received a standing ovation from Oshawa Engines and Sarnia Roughnecks fans alike. On the day, Horning went 5-for-5 in the Engines 12-4 victory.
