Mentor Shuts Out Syracuse, 12-0 Thursday, October 2nd , 1913 Mentor's Red Ames breezed through the Halites lineup, 3-hitting them in a shutout victory, 12-0. Ames fanned 7, as well. "I didn't really feel like I had my A-game today," Ames confessed, "but some days are like that -- you just gotta go with what you have." Ames has a 16-7 season record so far.
