The Adjuntas Santos faced a tough opponent in Las Piedras pitcher Sebastián Suárez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Estadio Hernán García by a final score of 3-2. Suárez went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Valentín Almanza, the winner, improved to 3-6. He held Las Piedras to 2 runs on 5 hits over 7.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Telmo Pérez converted his 17th save in 22 tries.
The Santos got a big at-bat from catcher Cecilio García. For the game, García was 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Adjuntas a 2-0 lead.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," García told the Adjuntas Today.
