The Grand Marais Voyageurs defeated the Sault St. Marie Rapids by the score of 9-7, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Keith Burke. Burke was 2-3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Voyageurs on the day. Ananías Pérez closed it out for his 5th save. Grand Marais, at 24-16, holds down second place in the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Superior.

Grand Marais went up, 9-7, on Ernesto Arúz's 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Arúz hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Sault St. Marie pitcher Fernando Ramírez feeling deflated.
