The Marquette Smelters and Grand Marais Voyageurs completed their game despite the rain.

Marquette Smelters starter Valerio Álvarez turned in an exceptional performance against the Grand Marais Voyageurs at Ballpark by the Marsh, resulting in a Marquette win, 4-1. Absalón Músquez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.

Making an impact for Marquette was left fielder Mateo Ruiz. He drilled a triple off Luis Zacarías in the top of the fourth. For the game, Ruiz was 2-2 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs.

Ruiz said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.

The second-place Voyageurs dropped to 23-18.
