Marquette had no answer for Sault St. Marie Rapids starter Nicolás Rodríguez, who flummoxed Smelters hitters as the Rapids cruised to victory, 8-1. The winner was Rodríguez. He threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Sabino Flores.
