Syrup Park did not lack for drama.

Alejandro Hernández left his imprint on the 9-6 Norwalk win against the Buffalo Hopper Boys. Hernández, who is tied for 6th in the EGLA in doubles with 22, was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Norwalk pitcher Édgar Bethancourt earned the win, hiking his record to 4-1. Red Donahue suffered the loss.

Hernández delivered in the clutch for Norwalk. In the bottom of the ninth, he took a 1-2 fastball from Buffalo pitcher Red Donahue and parked it over the fence. The 3-run home run won it for Norwalk.

"Whenever I help the team," said Hernández, "I feel like I earned my paycheck."

The 4th-place Maples improved to 33-37.
