Lincoln Collects Hit Number 1000
Landon Lincoln's bat made good contact with the ball as he has many times in his career, but this time it added his name to an elite list of players with 1000 hits.

"This is a tremendous honor. You grow up dreaming of becoming a League of the Great Lakes player, but never did I ever think I would get to this point," an emotional Lincoln said after the game.

The Superior center fielder went to the plate 3 times and racked up 1 hit to gain the honor. But the Whalebacks couldn't pull off a win -- they fell to the Sault St. Marie Rapids, 20-4.

"It certainly would have been nice to have won, but tomorrow is another day. I'm going to enjoy this moment with my friends and family," Lincoln said.

His all-time numbers show Lincoln has compiled a .291 batting average and collected 1000 hits, 26 home runs and 365 RBIs.
