Rose Stockings Stumble, Losing to Hopper Boys, 4-2
|
Buffalo starter Alejandro Urbina pitched well against the Mentor Rose Stockings at The Rosebush. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Urbina, now 13-5, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. With the win over Mentor, the Hopper Boys improved to 45-40.
Buffalo needed the clutch hitting of Timoteo Contreras to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hopper Boys on top, 4-2. For the game, Contreras had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Buffalo manager Diodoro Dagnino.
