The Sarnia Roughnecks got a sterling performance from first baseman George Beaumond, but the Oshawa Engines still prevailed, 5-4. Beaumond went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. Thierry Leray was the winner. He's now 6-7. The loser was 25-year old left-handed pitcher Earl Eby. Warren Way finished to wrap up his 3rd save.

Oshawa third baseman Doug Horning contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a changeup to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 83rd hit of the season and put the Engines ahead, 3-0.

Oshawa manager Santiago Tapia commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
