Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Grand Marais Voyageurs and Sault St. Marie Rapids.

The Grand Marais Voyageurs picked up a win at Ballpark by the Marsh, knocking off the Sault St. Marie Rapids, 4-3. Starting pitcher Leonardo Bonilla was a big reason why. Bonilla, now 17-4, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs.

Late in the game, pinch hitter Mark Smith had a big at-bat for Grand Marais. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Antonio Sánchez. The play gave the Voyageurs a 4-3 lead.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Smith told the Grand Marais Gazette.

The Voyageurs sit in third place in the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Superior with a record of 46-48.
