Rapids Suffer 6-2 Loss to Whalebacks
|
The Superior Whalebacks downed the Sault St. Marie Rapids, 6-2. The hitting star was second baseman Uranio Díaz. Díaz was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Whalebacks. The last-place Whalebacks improved to 42-56.
With Superior leading 2-1 in the top of the seventh, Díaz hit a run-scoring single off Sault St. Marie hurler Arnulfo Vázquez. It was the 69th hit of the season for Díaz and put his team ahead, 3-1.
