With pinch hitter Héctor Aceves leading the charge, the Sault St. Marie Rapids defeated the Superior Whalebacks, 7-5, at Rapids Park, But Better. Aceves went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Rapids saw their win-loss record go to 41-58. At the same time, the Whalebacks fell to 41-58.

In the bottom of the sixth, with Sault St. Marie leading 6-5, Camilo Reyes hit a fastball from Chris Brierley for a run-scoring single, giving the Rapids the lead, 7-5.

"I know we have our doubters," said Superior manager Devin Durrett. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
