The London Regulars took on the St Catharines Chicken Chuckers at The Big Coop.
London pitcher Peichun Tan did his part in helping his team defeat the St Catharines Chicken Chuckers, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Tan, now 17-11, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs.
Rolando Contreras had a big 2-run home run for the Regulars in the top of the fourth inning. With London leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Fernando Velarde and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Regulars on top, 4-1.
"We'd like to put some distance between ourselves and the rest of the division," said Tan.
The Regulars are now 67-52.
