Voyageurs Dismiss Zeniths, 3-2
|
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Voyageurs beat the Zeniths.
The Grand Marais Voyageurs picked up a win at Ballpark by the Marsh, taking down the Duluth Zeniths, 3-2. Starting pitcher Benicio Reyes was a big reason why. With the victory, the Voyageurs record stands at 66-54.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Voyageurs had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when second baseman Andy Overstreet hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Herodes González and made the score 3-2, Voyageurs. Overstreet was 2 for 3 with 2 singles.
"We take it day by day here," said Overstreet, "and today was a good one for us."
