Dulceros Snatch Late-Game, 3-2 Win

The Yabucoa Dulceros took on the Las Piedras Menestrales at Estadio Teodosio Martínez.
Yabucoa right-hander Víctor Hugo Velásquez helped his team edge Las Piedras by the score of 3-2. Velásquez kept the opposing lineup in check. Melchor Alvarado snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 1.1 innings. He's now 7-2 on the season.
Yun Chai, who is tied for 5th in the LH in runs scored with 67, won it for Yabucoa in the bottom of the seventh with a run-scoring single off Sebastián Suárez. In the game, Chai went 2-5 with a triple.
"I'll play 10 innings, I'll play 20," said Dulceros manager Jairo López. "Whatever it takes to win the ballgame."
Yabucoa, at 62-50, holds down second place in the Liga Hostos Este.
